Universal Cost

The Universal cost is derived by checking the following locations in the order that they are listed. Whichever location yields a value first is the value used.

1. If the Allow use of Standard cost for stock items option is ticked, the Item's Std Cost ($) is used.
2. If the Qty Stock: The total quantity in stock. Only available for stock Items on the Warehouses tab is not zero, the Avg Cost ($): The average cost (per unit) of the item for the warehouse on the Warehouse tab is used.
3. If the Qty in Stock on the General tab is not zero, the Avg Cost ($) on the General tab is used.
4. If the Last Cost ($): The cost of the item the last time it was purchased or transferred in on the Warehouse tab is not zero, the Last cost on the Warehouse details tab is used.
5. If the Last Cost ($) on the General tab is not zero, the Last cost on the General tab is used.

If none of these checks are applicable, then the Cost per kit will be zero.
